Getting Started

Follow these steps to get FOMOwl AIBot running in your community.

1. Invite the Bot

Choose your platform and invite the bot to your server or group. You must have Administrator or Manage Server permissions to add bots.

2. Grant Permissions

For the bot to function correctly (especially moderation features), it needs Administrator privileges.

  • Discord: Ensure the bot's role is placed higher than the roles of the users you want it to moderate.
  • Telegram: Promote the bot to Admin immediately after adding it to a group.

3. Initial Configuration

Once added, run the /start command in your group or server. This will:

  • Register your community in our database.
  • Send a welcome message with quick links.
  • Allow you to access the web dashboard.

4. Access the Dashboard

Manage your community settings, view analytics, and customize the AI persona from our web dashboard.

How to Login:

  1. Go to the Login Page.
  2. Sign in with your Discord or Telegram account.
  3. Select the server/group you want to manage from the sidebar.

5. Enable Brand AI (Premium or AI Only)

If you're on Premium or AI Only, you can make the bot an expert on your project instead of the default FOMOwl brief.

  1. Open the Brand AI tab.
  2. Add a short Brand Message that sets the persona (tone, name, what to avoid).
  3. Upload your KB files (TXT/MD/PDF/DOCX). Keep entries focused—one topic per file works best.
  4. Save, then test by mentioning the bot in your server/group; it will answer from your KB and brand message.

Tip: Keep the bot role above member roles (Discord) or admin in group (Telegram) so moderation and replies work reliably.
